FOR BOOKING & COMPLAINTS PLEASE RING THE CALL CENTRE 0845 6024135

Further to complaints brought to the Parish Council meeting on 10 February, a letter was sent to HCC and the response contained the following information:-

  • Alleged verbal abuse from a driver was dealt with by Stagecoach.
  • Timings. As a result of passenger and driver feedback, from 4 April there will be an extra morning service leaving Alton at 9.05, arriving at Binsted at 9.20 and back to Alton by 9.45 am. With regard to the request for a later bus for college students - the 16.13 bus will become the 16.23pm from Alton to Binsted.
  • All registered users will receive a letter informing them of the changes and information in the timed booking point in Binsted will be altered.
  • Passengers only have to register their wish to travel on Cango ½ hour before the bus leaves. This does not seem unreasonable or too difficult. Unlike the conventional service, Cango does not stop at all bus stops hence the problems that seem to have arisen in bus drivers not stopping at any point where the passenger rings the bell. Booked passengers will be able to get off anywhere in the operational zone that was agreed at the point of making their booking. This is a legal requirement with the Traffic Commissioners. Unbooked passengers can travel from Binsted timed point to the timed point in Alton.

Hopefully, this will help to iron out any teething problems that have arisen but do call the HCC Call Centre if there are difficulties and to book a trip.
L Hurley
Clerk
